Career Summary
Rahul joined the team in 2025, bringing over eight years of post-qualification experience and a specialisation in shipping and international trade. He advises clients on disputes arising from charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, shipbuilding contracts, port concession agreements, and commodity sale and purchase agreements, among other complex commercial contracts.
With dual qualification (England & Wales/India), Rahul has extensive experience in international arbitration, having appeared in cases under the rules of ICA, SIAC, LMAA, and in several ad-hoc arbitrations. With prior experience at leading Indian law firms, he possesses a keen understanding of the South Asian and Middle Eastern shipping markets.
Rahul graduated second in his cohort from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in 2014. He then earned an LLM in International Maritime Law from Swansea University in 2018, graduating with distinction. He is a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted to the Bar Council of India in 2014 and as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2024.
